MyTravelLite Selects Open Skies by Navitaire for Host Reservation Services
Minneapolis; October 8, 2002: Navitaire® today announced MyTravelLite, a new UK low fare carrier from MyTravel Group, as its newest customer for its Open Skies by Navitaire hosted reservations services.
Birmingham based MyTravelLite launched operations on October 1, 2002, and serves five European destinations offering low fare scheduled services to the rapidly growing cost sensitive UK travel market. Navitaire will provide complete host reservations services, revenue reporting, and revenue management services to MyTravelLite including the Open Skies FlightSpeed® call center application, Skylights® Internet booking engine, airport check-in services, and Manugistics' NetWORKS Airline Revenue Optimizer (ARO) revenue management system.
"Navitaire's Open Skies system offers an "off the shelf" solution with proven capability in meeting the needs of a low fares airline," said Tim Jeans, Managing Director of MyTravelLite. "It is fast and easy to use, both for call center staff and for consumers wishing to make bookings directly via the Internet."
"We are delighted that MyTravelLite has chosen Navitaire for their host reservations and revenue management needs," said John Dabkowski, Navitaire's Senior Vice President of Sales. "Their low fare model fits perfectly with Open Skies by Navitaire's strengths, and as the leader in low fare airline hosted solutions, we are confident that our cost effective, full featured hosted systems will give MyTravelLite a competitive advantage in the dynamic UK travel environment."
MyTravelLite joins Navitaire's 16 other airlines using the award winning Open Skies by Navitaire system. Navitaire has also welcomed Air Asia, CanJet, and Jetsgo this year, with an additional four new Open Skies by Navitaire customer installations currently underway to be announced later this fall.
Fueling demand for the Open Skies by Navitaire system is the success of Navitaire's existing Open Skies customers such as Ryanair, AirTran, and JetBlue. Open Skies customers lead the industry in terms of passenger growth and profitability, translating into a significant increase in Navitaire's transaction volumes this year.
