Vueling’s Pending Passenger Hold: Innovative, Market-Leading Approach

Navitaire is proud to support our carriers’ ongoing market innovations. Vueling’s recent innovative approach to giving passengers greater flexibility when it comes to reserving airline seats is yet another example of the creative thinking that caters to passengers’ needs and sets our customers apart from the competition.

Vueling’s Pending Passenger Hold feature appeals to customers that aren’t sure who might be traveling with them, or don’t know all of a fellow traveler’s details, at the time of booking, The option allows travelers to book and hold seats at the current market price for a window of time without knowing the traveling companion’s name. For €2, the ticket purchaser can book and confirm the seat and return to the reservation within 72 hours to provide the companion’s name. The service is available for bookings of less than 10 passengers. Once the 72 hours passes, the bookings for any unnamed travelers is cancelled without a refund.

The carrier has created a clever graphic to explain and promote the option.
